Management

  • Prof. Mordechai Shani, MD

    Prof. Shani was awarded the 2009 Israel Prize “for a lifetime of exemplary public service, and for being the guiding light and father figure for medicine and the health system of Israel. Prof. Shani was director general of the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer for 33 years; served two terms as director general of the Ministry of Health; was the architect of the 1994 reform of Israel’s health system; was a key player in the creation of the landmark Patient’s Bill of Rights; was co-founder of the Alut Israel Association for Autism; was chairman of the all-powerful Pharmaceuticals Approval Council in the Ministry of Health; and founded the Ziering National Center for Newborn Screening.

  • Yoram Feldman

    Yoram Feldman MBA, B.Eng, is the Director of ReAbility Tele-Rehab Technologies at Gertner Institute. He has overall responsibility for the group. Prior to joining ReAbility, Yoram was an Application Group Manager in Texas Instruments Israel and Texas Instruments Sunnyvale, California, US. Yoram holds a BEng degree from the University of Warwick, UK and MBA from the Kellogg-Recanati Executive MBA program of Tel Aviv University and Northwestern University in Chicago.

  • Miri Chared

    Miri Chared, BSc in Life Sciences from Tel Aviv University, is in charge of the ReAbility Tele-Rehab programs implementation at the Israeli medical institutions and the infrastructure development for the Tele-Rehab service. Miri brings with her experience in development/management of processes and procedures for market research, implementation of technical support and customer service systems, establishment of informational management and analytical support systems as well as management and coordination of clinical trials. Her career includes working as a Clinical Study Coordinator at Clalit Health Services and Marketing Research analyst covering North America’s generic pharmaceutical market at Plantex USA, a Teva subsidiary.

Research and clinical developers – Tele-Motion Rehab

  • Prof. Patrice L. (Tamar) Weiss

    Prof. Patrice L. (Tamar) Weiss PhD, OT, specializes in technology development and evaluation for a wide variety of clinical populations. She is a researcher at ReAbility Online and a full professor at the University of Haifa. She has many international collaborations and has been funded European Union FP7 program, the Israeli Science Foundation and is on the academic board of the ICORE Learning in a NetworKed Society. Prof. Weiss has authored more than 130 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.

  • Dr. Rachel Kizony

    Dr. Rachel Kizony PhD, OT, is a researcher in the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s largest medical facility, and lecturer at the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Haifa. She applies her expertise in neurological and cognitive rehabilitation to develop and evaluate innovative clinical applications, in particular those based on virtual reality (VR). Dr. Kizony is the principal investigator on a study related to driving hazard perceptions of people with acquired brain injury funded by the Israel National Road Safety Authority and a study on Performance in complex life situations by the elderly: Effect of changes in cognitive, locomotor and metabolic processes funded by the Israeli Science Foundation.

  • Sharon Harel

    Sharon Harel, MA, OT is the Clinical Director of the ReAbility Tele-Motion system and service. She is a senior occupational therapist with expertise in physical rehabilitation which served as the head of the OT service in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Unit at the Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s largest medical facility. Her master’s research from Tel Aviv University studied meaningful activities and focus of attention in motor learning. In recent years, Sharon has made significant contributions to the development of the Tele-Motion games and the establishment of the ReAbility Tele-Motion system.

  • Dr. Orit Elion

    Dr Orit Elion is a senior physiotherapist with an extensive clinical background in neurorehabilitation. Her main fields of research include balance motor skill acquisition and the motor, sensory and attention constraints on balance and stability, for which she used advanced virtual reality and motion capture technology. She has also gained experience in using this advanced technology for clinical intervention, as an integral part of rehab. Orit is involved in the development and validation of the ReAbility Tele-Motion system.

Research and clinical developers – Tele-Language Rehab

  • Nofia Vered

    Nofia Vered is the Clinical Director of the ReAbility Tele-Language system. She is a certified Speech and Language Pathologist, with expertise in rehabilitation, worked at the rehabilitation departments at Sheba Medical Center for 10 years. In recent years has developed and studied the tele-rehabilitation language system. Nofia Holds a BA in Communication Disorders and an MA in Cognitive Studies from Tel Aviv University.

  • Keren Rosen

    Keren Rosen, BSc, BA, is the Clinical Director of the ReAbility Tele-Language system in the US. Keren is a certified Speech and Language Pathologist in Israel, with expertise in rehabilitation.
    She has been a part of the development of the ReAbility Tele-Language system since its early days and brings with her a unique combination of clinical experience from her work at the Outpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Sheba Medical Center as well as technical expertise from her years as a software developer. Keren holds a BSc in Computer Sciences and Cognitive Sciences from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a BA in Communication Disorders from Tel-Aviv University.

  • Irit Feldmann

    Irit Feldmann is the Clinical Team Manager of the ReAbility Tele-Language system. She is a certified Speech and Language Pathologist, with expertise in rehabilitation, worked at the rehabilitation departments at Sheba Medical Center. In charge of the clinical services of the tele-rehabilitation language system. Irit holds a BA in Communication Disorders from Tel Aviv University.

  • Prof. Sarit Kraus

    Sarit Kraus (Ph.D. Computer Science, Hebrew University, 1989) is a Professor of Computer Science at Bar-Ilan University and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland. Her research is focused on intelligent agents and multi-agent systems (including people). Sarit is the machine learning advisor for the Virtual Speech Theraphist development.

  • Dr. Yael Henkin

    Dr. Yael Henkin is Head of the Hearing, Speech and Language Center and Communication Disorders Services at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Communication Disorders, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University

    Dr. Dafna Kaplan

    Dr. Dafna Kaplan is assistant director at the Hearing, Speech and Langauge Center and Communication Disorders services at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer and is in charge of the speech, language, and swallowing rehabilitative services for adults. Dr. Kaplan is also a teacher at the Department of Communication Disorders, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University
